Boards & Committees

The City of Winter Garden has a number of advisory boards and committees which provides assistance to the City Commission. Most meet once a month and only require a few hour of a volunteer's time. All members are appointed by the Mayor and City Commission.

Architectural Review and Historic Preservation Board

Assist in developing a historic preservation element to be incorporated into the City of Winter Garden's Comprehensive Plan and, if necessary, make recommendations for amendments to historic preservation goals, objectives and policies in the plan.

Code Enforcement Board

The Code Enforcement Board has jurisdiction and the authority to hear and decide alleged violations of the City Code of Ordinances, where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist, including but not limited to occupational licenses and fire, building, zoning and sign codes.

Community Redevelopment Area Advisory Board

The Community Redevelopment Advisory Board shall have all duties and responsibilities as may be formally delegated by the Community Redevelopment Agency, but shall, at a minimum, be responsible for the preparation and implementation of the community redevelopment plan through its recommendations to the community redevelopment agency.

Planning and Zoning Board

Implement the comprehensive plan adopted by the City with reasonable consideration, among other things, to the prevailing land uses, growth characteristics and the character of the respective districts and their peculiar suitability for peculiar uses and to encourage the most appropriate use of the land throughout the city, from time to time revising and amending the plan.

General Employees Pension Board

The sole and exclusive administration of and responsibility for the proper operation of the system and for making effective the provisions vested in a board of trustees. The board is designated as the plan administrator.
