Jessie Brock Community Center
Grand Opening Celebration

As in so many other aspects of life, the key to running a successful recreation department is having the ability to strike a balance between young and old, tradition and innovation, and the needs of one versus the needs of many. The City of Winter Garden continually strives to honor the past while embracing the challenges of the future, and to serve an entire community while maintaining meaningful connections with individual participants.

Please Note: Beginning Monday, January 11th, all recreation programs will move to the new Jessie Brock Community Center.

Recreation Programming

On the Horizon

The restoration of the former Dillard Street Elementary School Campus is underway and will provide enhanced recreation services. In conjunction with the Winter Garden Park & Recreation Master Plan Study 2006, programming needs were identified from a City-wide survey as follows:

  • Fitness & wellness programming: 52%
  • Adult art, dance & performing arts programming: 25%
  • Youth art, dance & performing arts programming: 25%
  • Senior adult programs: 22%
  • Pre-school programs: 18%
  • Before & after school programs: 17%

Once complete, the restored campus is anticipated to provide programming in response to citizen's needs. Click here for the site plan.
