Tanner Hall - Facility Calendar Available here!

Located at 29 W. Garden Avenue in Newton Park, Tanner Hall is an elegant and picturesque facility perfect for weddings, receptions, parties, large meetings or any special event.  There is a stunning view of the nightly sunset along the shore of scenic Lake Apopka.  Floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the serene setting and give a breathtaking view of the lake and beautifully landscaped park grounds.

The entrance to the facility is equipped with a covered drive that allows guests to be dropped off without being inconvenienced by inclement weather.  An entry foyer leads you in to the main room which showcases the magnificent view of the park grounds and Lake Apopka.  The main hall is tastefully decorated with a large chandelier, eight matching wall sconces, wooden dance floor and potted plants.  A patio spans along the North side of the facility giving your guests the perfect location to enjoy the view outdoors.

How to Make a Rental Reservation
To reserve a Tanner Hall rental date, an individual must:

  1. Submit a completed and signed rental agreement.  All rental agreements must be completed in person, at the Parks & Recreation office.  Appointments are not necessary to complete a rental agreement.  Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.

  2. Pay the corresponding amount:
    • If the date is 6 months or more away - pay $200.00
    • If the event is more than 1 month away, but less than 6 months away – pay ½ of the total balance
    • If the event is less than 30 days away – pay the total balance

Weekend Rental Rates (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

          Friday & Saturday – 10:00am-11:00pm (clean-up until 12:00am)
                         Sunday – 10:00am-10:00pm (clean-up until 11:00pm)

Additional Fees for Youth Events

  • 2 Winter Garden police officers are required for all events where the guest of honor is under the age of 21 and alcohol is served.  There is a minimum charge of $224.00 for 4-hours and $56.00 for each additional hour.
  • Additional insurance fees will apply for youth events were alcohol is served longer than 4-hours.

Rental Specifics

  • Reservations can be made up to 18 months in advance.
  • No free hours are given for setup or decoration.  One free hour is given after the event to remove items and clean the facility.
  • All events scheduled for minors must be reserved by their parent or legal guardian.  (Ex: Sweet 16, Quinceañeras, 1st birthday parties, Christening Parties, etc.)

 

Building Specifics

  • Seating and tables available for 200 people (25 sixty inch round tables, 12 six foot banquet tables, 6 thirty-six inch cocktail tables and 200 padded chairs).
  • The main hall is approximately 5,000 square feet.  There is a building capacity of 300 people, but is best suited for no more than 225 people seated. 
  • 20’ x 20’ wooden dance floor centered under the chandelier in the main hall.
  • Podium, projection screen, easel, event sign & beverage station available for a nominal fee.







10Wedding / Reception Information

  • Only the bride, groom, or one of their parents may reserve the facility.
  • The City Resident discount will apply only if the bride, groom, or one of their parents resides within the city limits of Winter Garden.
  • One hour of rehearsal time is included with your rental.  Rehearsal times are available the week of your wedding Monday-Friday from 8:00-9:00am or 9:00-10:00am.
  • The outdoor gazebo is available at no charge for ceremonies (outdoor seating is not included).

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I hire any caterer or provide the food myself?
Yes!  The renter may hire any caterer, restaurant, etc. to provide food and non-alcoholic beverages at the event.  Self catering is also allowed.  We have a list of Preferred Caterers available in our office if you would like assistance in narrowing your culinary choices.

Is there a full kitchen at Tanner Hall?
No – The kitchen is equipped with refrigeration, a small convection oven, and ice machine.  Cooking is not allowed in the facility due to fire/building codes.

Can I serve alcohol at my event?

  • Alcohol is permitted seven-days a week.
  • All alcoholic beverages must be distributed by a licensed bartender.  Renter must supply a copy of the caterer/bartender’s license to serve or sell alcoholic beverages from the State of Florida, Department of Business and Professional Regulation at least 30 days before the event.
  • No cash bars are allowed in the facility.

Do I need an appointment to visit Tanner Hall?
Yes – Tanner Hall is shown by appointment only.  If you would like to tour the facility or meet with your caterer, decorator, etc. please schedule a time with our office. 

Is there a bridal room or dressing area at Tanner Hall?
No – You are welcome to use our spacious restrooms as a dressing area during your rental time.  Another option is to reserve Little Hall for a fee of $150.00; if reserved, you will have access to the facility for the same hours you have Tanner Hall rented.  

How early can I arrive the day of my event?
You will only have access to Tanner Hall during your contracted times.  This also applies to any vendor you have hired for the event.

Are the park grounds closed during my rental?
Newton Park will remain open to the public during your event.  The gazebo which is located directly behind Tanner Hall is the only area in the park reserved with your rental.  We do not supply any seating for outdoor weddings.  Chairs supplied by the renter can be placed in the grass area in front of the gazebo.  All items must be set-up and removed the day of the event; nothing can stay overnight in the park.  No tents are allowed the park.

Located at 31 W. Garden Avenue in Newton Park, Little Hall is the perfect location for birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, meetings or any small gathering.  Little Hall’s location and spectacular views are sure to make any occasion memorable.  The spacious screened-in porch is the perfect place to take in breathtaking views of Lake Apopka and the beautiful park grounds.

Basic Rental Information

  • Reservations can be made up to twelve months in advance.
  • Renters can hire anyone to caterer the event; self-catering is also allowed.
  • No rehearsal time is given for rentals.
  • Alcohol is permitted seven-days a week.
  • To reserve a date an individual must complete a rental agreement and give payment in full.

  • There is a building capacity of 52 people, but is best suited for no more than 40 people seated.
  • Little Hall is equipped with a small sink and refrigerator; there is not a kitchen in the facility.
  • The screened porch is included in the price of the rental.  Renter must supply their own tables and chairs to be placed on porch area.

Can I hang decorations on the walls or from the ceiling?
No – All decorations must go on tables-tops or be free standing.  Nothing can be attached to the building.

Can I hold a date without a contract or payment?
No – Both a signed rental contract and payment are required to reserve a date.

Can we set-up the tables and chairs on the porch?
Our tables and chairs are for use inside the facility only.  You can supply additional tables and chairs if desired.

Is the pavilion next to Little Hall included in my rental?  
No – Pavilions are on a “first-come, first-serve” basis.
