Youth Programs

All cooking classes are held at the Jessie Brock Community Center - 310 North Dillard Street.
Advanced registration is required for all cooking classes.

African Drumming
Student will be able to perform African rhythms, sing songs to accompany African rhythms, identify musical instrument types and their African counter parts.  This is a 5 week session.  There will be no class on July 3rd.  Instructor  - Don Harrell  www.Orisirisi.Com

Music with Mar
A developmentally appropriate preschool music class that uses music to enhance the main areas of development: cognitive, social, motor and language.  All preschool aged children are welcome to come and make music together!

Fee:       $7 per family per class
                $30 per five-classes per family

Creative Movement
Creative Movement is a weekly program where basic dance and movement will be introduced. The class will focus on creativity and self-expression while developing fine and gross motor skills.

Kid’s Café
Come and hang out with the Recreation staff each day for an afternoon of fun and food!  Kid’s Café is a unique, free dinner program designed for children of low-income families.  The Kid’s Café program in Winter Garden is a joint program offered by the Orange County Community Action Division, the Second Harvest Food Bank and the City of Winter Garden.

Kids Systema
How do you kick?  Children will build character, self confidence and develop skills while learning the fundamental skills of this Russian Martial Art.

Middle School Dances
Come out each month and enjoy friends, music, games and prizes!  Middle School Dances are fun, exciting and safe!  Dances are supervised by Recreation staff and open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students only.  Current school ID and dress code are required.  Dances are limited to the first 250 participants.
